Five Fine Things, No. 14
Things worth sharing
Sending this out to you on a rare Friday! The week got away from me, as is often the case whenever it’s a short one. I took today off to head out east on Long Island with Rich and Richie for a little R&R (lol, I’m only realizing this pun as I read this back. Rest& Relaxation and Rich and Richie!) and hopefully some time at the beach if the sun shows itself. A few fun things that happened this week, with photos to share:
I went back to my natural brunette and I’m loving it.
Stopped into Apartment387’s pop up - they make really nice silk flowers.
Also stopped into Nickey Kehoe which is a home lover’s dream.
We did a great vintage drop on Instagram - live all week/weekend!
My newest art pieces arrived and I can’t WAIT to have them installed!
We got back the most incredible hand engraving on our Diamond Border Charm!
My sister made me this amazing shell necklace for Mother’s Day! She joked “who makes homemade jewelry for a jeweler,” but I’m obsessed with it!
Richie is in love with this John Dear Bubble Blower our neighbors gifted him. It’s such a good 2 year old gift if you happen to be looking for one!
We did a trial run of our table display for Fenimore Lane Design Summit, coming up the first weekend of June. If you’re in the Washington, CT area, come shop!

This is the best lip balm I’ve ever used. I love it so much. It has absolutely no stickiness to it, there’s a bunch of science as to why the formula is better than others (you can read it on the site, don’t leave it to me to explain), and the applicator is a metal tip that just feels so nice to use. Can’t recommend this enough.
J.Crew Visit (and Sale!)

All my favorite sale picks! I tend to write about multiple things I love from a store when I make the time to actually go in and try things on in person, and this week I did that at J. Crew. They have a huge sale going on for Memorial Day weekend that I just missed, so let me save you a few and point you in the right direction. I picked up these jelly sandals I had seen on a few people on Instagram and love them so much. The color is very me and the shape and feel of them is so nostalgic for the ones I wore as a kid (they run a bit small, I sized half size up). Then I got these elastic pants, which I know I’ll live in all summer. I like the material, which is easy, breezy (literally, not just saying that for the rhyme) and so much more flattering than silk. I also got this summer roll neck sweater - I love a summer weight cotton sweater and especially like that is a bit see through which looks cute with a bralette or bathing suit under. Then I got this Irish Linen shirt that my mom raved about and bought in 3 additional colors when she was visiting recently! I love these boxers as a bathing suit cover up! And, I didn’t end up getting this dress, but it’s so cute in person in the white with black stitching and I may have to return for it. I love an easy, A-Line shift dress like this.
Nellie Atelier - Miri Baggy Jean
Every time I wear these jeans I get complements all day long, truly! It’s a mixture of their great cut (which is meant for petites) and their beautiful material, which you can see and feel is very high quality denim. I was introduced to the brand through a friend and loved that they are cut for shorter girls like me. I am 5’4” which I think is the high end for what’s considered petites. I do find a petite cut makes a difference for me though; not just in the length, but in the overall fit. We are working on hosting the brand at The Fewer Finer Townhouse for a popup since I love them so much and think it’s much nicer to get to try on jeans in person so I’ll let you know when that comes together!

my wedding dress, and the tablecloth! For Mother’s Day my husband surprised me with this tablecloth that he picked out himself! And it made me so happy since it is very much my style. Also, it looks almost identical to the dress I work for our church wedding, which makes me love it even more! Rich often gets me gifts from Porta since he knows I love the store and it’s so nice having a place like that where your husband knows he can go to get you something you love with his own autonomy to choose it! I know Fewer Finer is that for many people, which makes me so happy and proud!
Since I am nearly certain I have no male subscribers here, I will tell you about my favorite new thongs. I have always been a thong person, so this is coming from someone that wears them exclusively. I got the rec from an interview with Harling Ross Anton who said they were her fave and I was in the market for something cotton. She raved about them, I bought some, and spent some time deciding if I loved them. They are the most comfortable, sunbstantial, and still totally seamless ones I’ve ever tried. Only tick against them is that they have a bit of a shimmer in the waistband elastic that I don’t love. I just bought some bras to try so will report back if I love those as much too, but for now, of all the cotton thongs I’ve tried, these sit at the top!
Until next time,
Madison

Omg that necklace by your sister?!?! Can she do a popup at the townhouse?! So good!!!!
So many good finds here!
